Q: Why are your E-bikes not allowed on the Hiawatha trail? 

A: There is a compound known as magnesium chloride present in the soil, causing irreparable damage to our bikes. To safeguard our investments, we have made the decision to restrict bike access to areas containing this compound. No exceptions will be made to this rule.

Q: How can I transport the bike(s)?

A: Our bikes must be transported either using a truck with a tailgate pad attached or a hitch-mounted rack. Placing bikes in the back of a vehicle OR on a hanging rack goes against our company policy, as it causes unnecessary damage to the bikes.

Q: Does your company offer a shuttle service?

A: Not at this time. However, we highly recommend Lou McCarty for your shuttle service needs!

Q: Is the Trail of the Coeur D’Alenes in the city of Coeur D’Alene?

A: No. The Trail of the Coeur D’Alenes is approximately a 45 minute drive from our CDA location.

Q: Can I rent bikes at one location and drop them off at another?

A: No, all bikes MUST be dropped off at their respective locations.

Q: What does my rental include? 

A: All rentals include a helmet and one lock for every two bikes. Road/gravel bikes also come with a repair kit containing one tube per bike.

Q: What adjustments can I make to my rental bike?

A: Seat height adjustments are the only personalized adjustments we allow at this time. Thank you for your understanding.

Q: Do your bikes have racks or bags for my personal belongings? 

A: Our E-bikes feature an integrated rack on the back. At our CDA location, we provide a LIMITED supply of baskets on a first-come, first-served basis at no additional charge. Please note these are not guaranteed, so we recommend planning accordingly.

 

Q: How far in advance should I book my rental? 

A: This can vary depending on the season. For spring and summer rentals, we highly recommend booking a few months in advance to secure the desired bicycle. If you're renting for a race or any specific event, please book as early as possible. Please note that we have a limited supply of road bikes and sizes available. 

Q: Do you accept walk-ins? 

A: Yes. However, booking online is the only way to ensure you receive a bike. WE OFTEN SELL OUT. Booking online also streamlines the process, getting you out on the trails more quickly.

Q: Can anyone rent an E-bike?

A: All E-bike riders MUST be 15 years of age or older.

Q: Do I have to wear a helmet? 

A: All E-bike riders must wear a helmet. Riders under 18 are also required to wear a helmet.

Q: I want to rent a trailer for my children. What is the age requirement?

A: Children MUST be 18 months or older to ride in a trailer. Failure to comply can result in serious injury or death. 

Q: Can I attach a trailer to an E-bike?

A: We do not permit our trailers to be attached to E-bikes. If you're renting a trailer, you must attach it to a personal bike or one of our comfort-hybrid bikes. Please note that our trailers may not be compatible with all bikes. For more information, feel free to call 208-966-4022.

Q: Can I rent a mountain bike? 

A: Our downhill bikes are available for rent at our Kellogg location. Currently, mountain bikes are not offered at our CDA location. All of our mountain bikes are downhill-oriented and are recommended for use in the bike park exclusively.

Q: Does anyone offer mountain bike rentals in the area? 

A: Not that we are aware of. If you plan to ride the local mountain trails, we recommend either bringing your personal bike.

Q: You are closed the day that I want to rent. Can I pick up a bike before/after hours? 

A: Our operating hours are designed to suit our employees and the majority of our customers. Bikes must be rented or returned DURING business hours. A late fee will be charged for bikes returned outside of the specified hours.

Q: I need to cancel my booking but you are closed the next two days and have a 24hr cancellation policy. What should I do?

A: If we are closed and you need to cancel a reservation, please email us to inform us of your cancellation. If the email is sent within the cancellation period, no cancellation fee will be charged.
